ICIT 1.5 Year Format

ICIT Graduation Requirements

Attendance

Therapy can be an intense, transformative experience that is both subjective and experiential. There is  no right or wrong in this work.  Therefore, there is no grading or written examination. The training is based on a pass/fail  system. When the course requirements are all met, the student passes the  course and certification is granted.

All students must complete the training program. To be certified they may miss no more than  three days over the course of module 1 to module 3 and three days over the course of module 4  to module 6.

Required Reading

A minimum of 6 books must be chosen from the recommended reading list, and book reports for each will be submitted.  Two of the six books will be identified as mandatory reading.

Practicums

In between the live training modules, there will be supervised practicums – where you will have a chance to be clients and therapists, as you practice the tools with your classmates. You will need to provide 6 Case Study reports, to be submitted in the required format.

Personal Therapy

Students must receive a minimum of six personal, private sessions from a qualified lnner Child  Integration therapist.  A list of referrals will be provided.

Family History

Before the end of the 1st year, students must write a minimum five page, typed family history.  The purpose of the history is for the students to prepare themselves for becoming Inner Child Integration practitioners by exploring  their own past.

Academic Progress

The purpose of the training is to help students learn, heal and grow. If a student is having  difficulties with the training, all effort will be made on the part of the teachers and  staff to assist the student in any way possible. If the teacher observes a problem, it will be  discussed with the student. The approach is to be as open minded and understanding as  possible and at the same time resolve any difficulties mutually. If students feel there is a  problem during the training, they are encouraged to communicate with the teacher so  assistance or resolution is possible.

When circumstances prevent a student from completing the training, the student has the option  to terminate their enrolment (see cancellation policy) or to seek a leave of absence. Without any additional charges, they can pause the training in the current year and join the next year’s training  at the point where they previously took the leave of absence.
